FRIENDS SELECT STEAM BUILDING PHILADELPHIA
UPPER SCHOOL STEAM FACILITY FOR A PRIVATE QUAKER school AT FRIENDS CENTER
Renovation and restoration of three 19th century buildings on the site of Friends Center, the national hub for Quakerism. The buildings include 15,000 square feet on four floors, reimagined for Upper School Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math. The exteriors are designed to conform to strict historic guidelines, while interiors provide state-of-the-art studios, labs, and classrooms – maximizing flexibility and learning zones, ventilation, and sustainable building practices. The facilities are intended to foster creativity and collaboration, including communal space to augment co-curricular activities.
