Additions and renovations for a 4,000 SF Pre-k and Kindergarten winG AT NEWTOWN FRIENDS SCHOOL

Three pop-out classroom additions with large operable windows and doors, create a permeable barrier between the traditional school building and new outdoor learning laboratory. Remnant space between the Administrative offices and the early childhood wing was captured to create a skylit commons area for gathering, displaying student’s work, and hosting parents. Improvements include accessibility and code compliance upgrades, new storage solutions, integration of teaching technology into classroom spaces. Enhancements were made to overall building ecology utilizing sustainable, non-emitting finishes and a new zoned mechanical system.
